All doctors registered in HK have to be proficient in English and most will have been trained in Britain, the USA, Canada or Australia. A few have received training in Japan or in Continental Europe. The standard of care is high and most private doctors prefer to maintain short waiting lists so can be consulted at short notice.

The schools all require a pre-entry medical check up for their students. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know your new doctor, remember to take along the children's records and also their spectacles/lenses if they use them.
